You have a sense of humour - well, of course,
Given the dire vicissitudes of life
Where everything seems to go from bad to worse;
You have a sense of humour.
Just when it seems that despair was rife,
There was no hope, life lay under a curse,
Up you pop and sort out all our strife,
Answering prayer, cutting to the source
Of disaffection with a Shepherd's knife
That heals, without an inkling of remorse.
You have a sense of humour.
