You're reading it, please quietly desist.

I mean to hide this jewel from your mind.

This poem is not for you

Because it seems that when I persist

In publishing my poems to the wind

They're generally ignored or are dismissed

By critics with faint praise; so I've resigned

Myself to anonymity; my list

Of masterpieces hidden from all mankind.
